A journey

Rocked by the memories of a mother and grandparents who lived for a long time in this region of Africa, I was very early sensitive to the charm of Morocco and the refinement of the culture of the Hashemite Kingdom.

They told me about their attachment, the finesse of its cuisine... over the course of our many travels I discovered the beauty of its light and its landscapes, the splendor of its architecture and the exceptional hospitality of its people.

I subsequently had the chance to live and work there, a significant experience that opened the way to a more intimate, authentic and even more inspiring discovery of the country.

A few years later, in 2017, after several years in London and longing for exoticism, I founded Moodbox, my small interior design business dedicated to promoting Moroccan crafts. By collaborating with weavers, potters, ironworkers, and embroiderers, I developed my own collections and began to focus more specifically on household linens.

Little by little, over time, a collaboration with the Lumière embroidery workshop in Tazert was built and intensified, particularly and against all expectations during the Covid period when the world was turning in on itself. I was thus helping the association pursue its noble mission (click to discover its mission). As our ties strengthened, I then felt the need to help the association shine on its own beyond its borders.

This is how B(r)odraps – Lumière de Tazert was born, a brand of unique sheets that combines my commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and the inimitable talent of the association's embroiderers.

Founded by Malika and her brother, Lumière de Tazert supports 240 embroiderers in a village of over 400 inhabitants, enabling them to receive a monthly salary from their work and to learn to read and write. Malika and her son Oussama were keen for the association's name to be included in this project to give it recognition beyond Morocco, and this has now been achieved.

Through B(r)odraps – Lumière de Tazert, the ambition is to promote this ancestral know-how that is embroidery as well as the art of embroiderers by offering exceptional household linen, hand-embroidered with a needle and combining tradition and modernity.
